Symphonic Band (MUSCP 30A–D)
Dr. Jerome Fleg, Director
The SRJC Symphonic Band meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. and is open by audition to all qualified players of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments (including piano and harp) who attend SRJC. The group performs a wide variety of music from the wind band repertoire, including marches, transcriptions, and contemporary original works. The group performs two to three times a semester and some sectional work outside of scheduled class time may be required. A limited number of school-owned instruments are available for student use. Instrument lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, which can be obtained at the Music Department office, Forsyth Hall, Room 130, with proof of enrollment.
Each ensemble director will have their own criteria for admission and placement within their group. Please contact the director of the ensemble you wish to join for more information.
